TRANSLATING, ADAPTING, GIVING VOICE
Below you will find a selection of my work in script translation and adaptation for dubbing, as well as subtitle creation and translation. In this field, no two projects are alike: each one brings new challenges, but also new opportunities for personal enrichment and the expansion of one’s knowledge—even in one’s native language.
CYCLING SOUNDTRACK
Andrea Gobbi, an Italian musician and sound engineer from the Marche region, embarks / sets out on a bicycle journey from Manchester to Castelfidardo. His goal is to compose tracks together with the musicians he meets along the way. These pieces will come together to form the soundtrack for this adventure
OUR COLLABORATION
Normally, I create subtitles in my native tongue, starting from a foreign language, but for this client and friend, I made an exception and created them in English, starting from the Italian audio. I then assigned the proofreading part to a native English-speaking colleague to ensure an excellent result. And so it was: my client was extremely satisfied with it.
NUESTROS DÍAS MÁS FELICES
In this film, presented in the Biennale College section of the 2021 Venice Film Festival, the director portrays the family as a tangle of ever-changing roles. On her seventieth birthday, Agatha wakes up in the body of an eight-year-old girl. Elisa, her 38-year-old independent daughter, is forced to return home to take care of her mother, while Leonidas, her 36-year-old son—who until then remained childlike and symbiotically attached to his mother—suddenly experiences a long-suppressed personal and sexual awakening. Brought together by this unexpected event, the two very different siblings are forced to find new ways of communicating in order to live under the same roof.
OUR COLLABORATION
For this client, I translated and adapted the subtitles from Argentine Spanish into Italian. It was a valuable opportunity to explore this variety of Spanish in depth, and specifically to expand my knowledge of a language of the heart—more emotional and abstract.
TEATRO DE GUERRA
Teatro de Guerra features Argentine and British veterans who fought in the Falklands War. The reenactment of certain episodes from the conflict brings past memories and traumas back to the surface, along with deep emotional truths about the consequences of war. The conflict ended with a UK military victory and cost the lives of about 1,000 people. Despite 35 years having passed, the sovereignty of the islands is still in dispute.
OUR COLLABORATION
For this client, I translated and adapted the subtitles from Argentine Spanish into Italian. It was a valuable opportunity to delve deeper into this variety of Spanish and get a closer look at a (unfortunately dark) piece of this country’s history.
I RICORDI DI ZIA FRIDA (An Eclectic Christmas)
This film centers on Kim, a young dancer and personal trainer from Los Angeles who is about to return to her hometown to spend Christmas with her beloved Aunt Frida. However, a phone call forces her to head back to Forestbrook early to carry out the wishes of her recently deceased aunt. Aunt Frida, an eccentric vintage shop owner, had already arranged several surprises for her before dying—including an ex-boyfriend and a series of riddles to solve to help her find happiness.
OUR COLLABORATION
For this client, I translated and adapted the script from English into Italian. Having to translate and recreate riddles and rhymes was truly stimulating and fun.

CHRISTMAS ON THE ROCKS
Jennifer is a successful event planner who gets into an accident right before the Christmas holidays, forcing her to take a break. Her twin sister, Sarah, decides to help out by stepping in to manage her portfolio of top clients. Nick, one of Jennifer’s ex-boyfriends, reappears in Sarah’s life. Believing her to be the real Jennifer, Nick continually/repeatedly hits on Sarah, who must use all her wits to maintain her cover.
OUR COLLABORATION
For this client, I translated and adapted the script from English into Italian. It was one of my first dubbing translation jobs, and I had a lot of fun working on it.
